| About |
Sara Flitner is the owner of Flitner Communications,
specializing in strategic communications, collaborative problem
solving, and public relations. Since 1995, she has worked with
clients and projects ranging from corporate retreats to small
business positioning, in areas of business, government, conservation,
tourism, health care, agriculture and education. Most of her
work involves seeking better strategies for positioning organizations
to take advantage of their strengths, while collaboratively finding
solutions to their challenges.
Sara has focused on public participation processes and perception
management campaigns since her firm’s genesis. The success
of her clients is related to Sara’s focus on thoroughly
identifying issues, building partnerships, and creating solution-based
strategies. She has worked with many grass-roots efforts
to navigate clients to successful outcomes.
Sara has sheparded several local issues through successful
public involvement campaigns, and worked with many businesses,
government agencies and multi-party stakeholder groups to facilitate
community-based decision-making.
Sara has acted as facilitator and neutral third party on
a number of large projects involving community values, most
of which aggressively sought to identify common values and
build solutions at the community level. Her vision for collaborating
with constituencies in Western landscapes is derived from
her own passion for seeing communities work together to address
interests and design their collective future. Sara has worked
as a facilitator for conservation and agriculture groups
on open space, state and federal agencies on wildlife management,
and community leaders planning for impacts of growth and
development. She has also been heavily involved in using
public dialogue to increase public education opportunities
for Wyoming students.
Sara served as Marketing Director for the Jackson Hole Visitors
Council before starting Flitner Communications. A Wyoming native
from a fourth generation Wyoming family, Sara earned her Bachelor
of Arts in Organizational Communication from the University
of Wyoming. She lives in Jackson with her husband, Bill Wotkyns,
and their sons, Pete and Silas.
